Who We Are
A nonprofit organization founded on compassion, driven by action, and guided by the belief that every animal deserves protection.
Our Story
SDAP LTD — the Society for the Defense of Animal Protection — was founded in 2009 by a small group of veterinarians, lawyers, and animal welfare activists who saw a critical gap in the systemic protection of animals.
What began as weekend rescue operations out of a single shelter has grown into a national organization with 38 active programs, 5,200+ volunteers, and a legal team that has successfully prosecuted over 400 animal cruelty cases.
Today, SDAP LTD operates shelters, mobile rescue units, a wildlife rehabilitation center, and an advocacy arm that works directly with legislators to strengthen animal protection laws.
What Guides Us
These principles shape every decision we make, every program we run, and every life we touch.
We approach every animal — and every human — with empathy and care. Compassion is not just a value; it's our operating method.
Animals cannot advocate for themselves in courts. We do it for them, fighting for accountability and stronger legal protections.
Our programs are grounded in veterinary science and evidence-based animal welfare practices — not assumptions or trends.
We believe in the power of community. Our volunteers, donors, and partners are the backbone of everything we accomplish.
Protecting animals means protecting their environments. We integrate ecological thinking into all our long-term programs.
We publish our financials, program outcomes, and impact reports annually. Your trust is earned through transparency.
